Derwent Charcoal XL Blocks

Derwent Charcoal XL Blocks combine all the natural qualities of charcoal with the strength and body of an XL block. Available in a range of 6 colours, these blocks let you explore charcoal in all its beauty – from deep rich black through to warm and cool tinted greyscale shades. These sticks are naturally water-soluble and are perfect for getting the most out of your mark making techniques. Use the edges for fine marks, or turn onto a flat side to deposit bold strokes of charcoal. Then add a touch of water to experience deep black washes. These blocks are soft in texture so can easily be broken into smaller drawing tools or grated into a powder. Each block contains the equivalent of eight pencils.
